PRIVACY POLICY — POSTCARD KEEPER

Last updated: 06/10/2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the Postcard Keeper iOS app (“the
App”, “we”, “our”) handles your information. By using the App, you
agree to this policy.

The App is published by Postcard-Keeper. If you have any questions
or requests about this Privacy Policy, contact us at privacy@postcardkeeper.com.

  1. SUMMARY
  • We store your postcards, contacts, and notes in your own private
iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit. We do not operate our own
servers and do not have access to your data.
  • We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, or any
    tracking information.
  • We do not sell, share, or disclose your information to third parties
    for marketing.
  • The App requires access to your camera (to photograph postcards),
your iCloud account (to store postcards and contacts), and
optionally your Contacts (only when you explicitly pick one to
    import).
  1. WHAT INFORMATION THE APP HANDLES

When you use the App, you may create or import the following
information, which is stored only in your private iCloud:

  • Postcard images (front and back), captions, dates, tags, and an
opt-in “include in shared gallery” flag.
  • Postmark text you enter (city and country). The App resolves this to
map coordinates using Apple’s MapKit. Apple may receive the postmark
text to complete this lookup; we do not transmit it ourselves.
  • Contact information you enter or import: name, address, photo,
notes, Reddit username, and Postcrossing username.
  • Recognized text from postcard backs, extracted on-device using
Apple’s Vision framework. This text is stored in your private iCloud
alongside the postcard. It is never sent off-device by us.
  • Subscription status is provided by Apple’s StoreKit. We see only
whether you have an active subscription; Apple handles all payment
    information.

We do not collect: precise device location, advertising identifiers,
your full Contacts list, your photo library, or any data unrelated to
features you actively use.

  1. WHERE YOUR DATA IS STORED

All of your postcards, contacts, and related notes are stored in your
private Apple iCloud account, in a CloudKit container named
“iCloud.amused.Postcard-Keeper”. Apple manages this storage under its
own privacy and security terms. See Apple’s Privacy Policy at
https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.

We never receive, host, or process this data on any server we operate.

  1. SHARING YOUR POSTCARDS

The App lets you opt in to publishing a read-only gallery of selected
postcards to a public iCloud share link. This is entirely optional and
off by default.

  • Only the front image and the postcard’s caption, direction, and
postmark fields are included in any share.
  • The back image, recognized text, and all contact information are
stored separately and are never included in a share, regardless of
    any setting.
  • A shareable link is only generated when you explicitly request one.
  • You can revoke a share at any time from within the App, which makes
    the link inaccessible.
  1. SUBSCRIPTIONS

The App offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions purchased through
Apple’s in-app purchase system. Apple handles all billing, renewal,
and cancellation. You can manage your subscription via iOS Settings,
your Apple ID, then Subscriptions.

We do not store or have access to your payment information.

  1. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided
information to us, contact us at [YOUR_EMAIL] and we will remove it.

  1. YOUR RIGHTS

Because your data is stored in your own iCloud account:

  • You can view, edit, or delete your postcards and contacts from
inside the App at any time.
  • You can delete the App from your device to remove its local caches.
  • You can delete all stored data from Apple’s iCloud at any time via
Settings, Apple ID, iCloud, Manage Account Storage.
  • If you live in a jurisdiction with additional rights (such as GDPR
or CCPA), contact us at [YOUR_EMAIL] and we will help you exercise
    them.
  1. SECURITY

We rely on Apple’s CloudKit infrastructure for encryption in transit
and at rest. We do not transmit your data to any other service. No
system is perfectly secure; if you become aware of a vulnerability,
please contact us at [YOUR_EMAIL].

  1. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes
will be reflected by a new “Last updated” date at the top of this
page. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance
of the updated policy.
